Deborra Marshall (b. 1957)
Deborra Marshall Bohrer, born in 1957 in Kansas City, Missouri, began working as an interior designer. After feeling meant to be an artist, she switched careers and started to self-educate and practice painting directly with well established painters. Her artwork has been exhibited in multiple galleries based in the Northwest region of the United States, as well as New York, Market and Design Art Fair in Bridgehampton and Reveal Art Fair in Saratoga Springs. Deborra also solo exhibited a very special collection titled “Moments in Transit” in ModArt Gallery, Miami.
Expressively, Deborra’s painting are a glimpse into to the core of human perception with color and images that provoke thoughts and memories of the past, and hopes that linger in the future. Adding layer upon layer of color with a palette knife, brush or hand, the depth of paint reveals the life of the subject. Behind each piece there is a true story arising from the community she knows.
Deborra resides in Boise, Idaho and her work is declared Contemporary Folk Art.
